Issue

An error happens when an attempt is made to create any kind of app:

Creating application 'test' ...
Starting PHP 5.4 cartridge (Apache+mod_php)
Application directory "/" selected as DocumentRoot
Failed to execute: 'control start' for /var/lib/openshift/1234567890abcd1234567890/php"

similar messages are shown when attempting to restart existing gears:

Starting jbossews cartridge
jbossews process failed to start
The jbossews cartridge is already stopped
Failed to execute: 'control restart' for /var/lib/openshift/1234567890abcd1234567890/jbossews
Depending on the size of your application it may take up to several minutes to restart.

• The application doesn't answer (503 response)
• No application log is created
