Strange route added to the IP routing table

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Upon a reboot or a network restart, the IP routing tables shows an unexpected entry:
# netstat -rn
Kernel IP routing table
Destination Gateway Genmask Flags MSS Window irtt Iface
10.50.128.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.192.0 U 0 0 0 Auto_eth1 <<<----
169.254.0.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.0.0 U 0 0 0 Auto_eth1
0.0.0.0 10.50.148.1 0.0.0.0 UG 0 0 0 Auto_eth1

when it's supposed to show:

# netstat -rn
Kernel IP routing table
Destination Gateway Genmask Flags MSS Window irtt Iface
10.50.148.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 U 0 0 0 Auto_eth1 <<<----
169.254.0.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.0.0 U 0 0 0 Auto_eth1
0.0.0.0 10.50.148.1 0.0.0.0 UG 0 0 0 Auto_eth1
