Does any process need to be restarted after changing /etc/resolv.conf?
Issue
- Our system is configured to user both internal and external nameservers. We need to change the IPs for the external nameservers. From what I understand, all we need to do is update
/etc/resolv.confwith the IPs for the new nameservers. Does any process need to be restarted after this change? How can I confirm that the change is in effect?
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux
- dns
- resolv.conf
