BRMS Plugin for JBoss ON does not show right resource name for JBoss B*MS 6.1
Environment
- Red Hat JBoss Operations Network (ON) 3.3.x
- Red Hat JBoss Business Process Management Suite (BPMS) 6.0.x, 6.1.x
- Red Hat JBoss Business Rule Management System (BRMS) 6.0.x, 6.1.x
- BRMS Plugin Pack for Red Hat JBoss Operations Network 3.3
Issue
-
After upgrading from JBoss BRMS 6.0.x to 6.1, using
Deployable for EAP 6package, the resource is discovered asEAP 6.4.0 GAin JBoss ON. For older version (6.0.x), it used to be named as BRMS ou BPM Suite (i.e.BRMS 6.1.1 GA). Is it an expected behavior? -
Why JBoss ON does not display the right resource name for B*MS resource after upgrading to 6.1?
Resolution
This is the expected behavior. In B*MS 6.0.x, there were two types of installation (one was based in layers and other one was simply business-central deploy).
From 6.1+, there were no layers installation anymore. The installer tool simply deploy business-central.war on EAP, and deployable package is the same thing. So it is currently an EAP instance with business-central deployed, it is why JON will not identify it only as an EAP resource.
Root Cause
In B*MS 6.0.x, the layer installation replaced the product.conf file placed in {$BRMS_HOME}/jboss-eap-6.1/bin directory from eap to brms or bpms during installation... also all brms jars were available in modules. It has changed from 6.1.x onwards... now business-central is only a deployed application in JBoss EAP.
