RHEL5: upgraded from RHEL5.10 to RHEL5.11 and now commands accessing vxfs filesystem hang
Issue
Recently upgraded from RHEL 5.10 to 5.11 and noticed that certain commands would hang at times, and we would require a reboot to resolve. Commands such as 'ps -ef' or listings in specific directories accessing Veritas (vxfs) filesystems.
Environment
- Red Hat Enteprise Linux 5
- seen on kernel-2.6.18-400.1.1.el5
- Veritas vxfs filesystems
- VRTSvxfs-6.1.1.100-RHEL5.x86_64
