How are categories used with BRMS6.x?

Is there a way to build rules by using selector(categories) with BRMS 6.x as well as BRMS 5.x?
In BRMS6.x, categories in meta data still can be managed via file explorer in business central. But it can't be used when doing 'Build & Deploy' Project in business central.
