Why does system-config-kdump fail with error "grubby: unexpected argument --update-kernel=/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.32-279.19.1.el6.x86_64" ?
Issue
- Trying to configure
kdumpfor the system using the kdump configuration GUI. - In the
"Error write bootloader configuration"screen the "Called command" is :
/sbin/grubby -- --update-kernel=/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.32-279.19.1.el6.x86_64 --remove-args=ro rd_NO_LUKS rd_NO_LVM LANG=en_US.UTF-8 rd_NO_MD SYSFONT=latarcyrheb-sun16 crashkernel=512M KEYBOARDTYPE=pc KEYTABLE=us rd_NO_DM rcutree.rcu_cpu_stall_suppress=1 add_efi_memmap nmi_watchdog=0 nortsched processor.max_cstate=1 nobau log_buf_len=8M pci=hpiosize=0,hpmemsize=0,nobar udev.children_max=128 earlyprintk=ttyS0,115200n8 relax_domain_level=2 cgroup_disable=memory pcie_aspm=off idle=halt nohz=off highres=on rcutree.blimit=3 nmi_watchdog=0 noirqdebug cgroups_disable=memory init=/sbin/react-init.sh isolcpus=1-127 ipmi_si.trydefaults=0 ipmi_si.tryacpi=0 ipmi_si.trydmi=0 printk.time=1 console=ttyS0,115200n8
- and
"Standard error"reads:
grubby: unexpected argument --update-kernel=/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.32-279.19.1.el6.x86_64
