xsane won't connect to the scanner after first-time use.
Issue
-
HP LaserJet M1212nf(all in one) device is connected to a local network. RHEL system is configured to use CUPS and xsane. It worked fine and user was able to scan a document after initial configuration.
-
But when user tried to use it again on the same network with the same device, it listed the device but reports an I/O error trying to connect.
Failed to open device `hpaio:/net/DEVICE_NAME?ip=xx.xx.xx.xx`: Error during device I/O -
Every time user starts xsane, it says it is 'scanning for devices', yet it never detects the online scanner even though it is on the same subnet.
-
Is there a way to manually change the last configured IP address of a scanner or will xsane automatically detect it upon start up ?
-
Is there a way to force xsane to drop or remove previously discovered devices ?
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
