RHEL system running cups-lpd is not listening on port 515 for LPD print connections
Issue
- I have created a new server with RHEL 6 and configured CUPS but the spool system is not able to connect. Port 515 is not listening on the server.
- Even after following the instructions in Configuring RHEL to accept LPD connections from Unix clients, the server is not able to listen on port 515.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
- Common Unix Printing system (CUPS)
- cups-lpd package installed and configured
