Is RHEL 6.6 a hard requirement for OSE 2.2 or are meeting the dependencies for OSE 2.2 sufficient? Are there any support implications?

Solution In Progress - Updated -

Issue

  • The OSE deployment guide currently states RHEL 6.6 is required for OSE 2.2.
  • We are currently running RHEL 6.5 and split each minor release into a dedicated repo (with no plans to offer RHEL 6.6 internally). Testing an upgrade from OSE 2.1.x to 2.2 has identified a requirement for an updated libc (part of RHEL 6.6).
  • Is RHEL 6.6 a hard requirement for OSE 2.2 or are meeting the dependencies for OSE 2.2 sufficient?
  • Are there any support implications?

  • "libcgroup-pam as supplied with OSE 2.1.10 and 2.2.1 in their respective Node Repos requires libcgroup from 6.6.
We’ve not seen any other dependency issues."

Environment

  • Openshift Enterprise 2.2
