How should a RHEL 6.* kernel module in a KVM guest get a monotonically increasing high resolution timestamp
Issue
- IN RHEL 5, the function call
monotonic_clock()
was available to get a monotonically increasing high resolution timestamp in a KVM virtual machine.
- However, that is no longer available in RHEL 6. How does one achieve this same functionality for kernel modules in RHEL 6?
