Is it possible to have load balancing of multiple JBoss clusters sharing same servers ?

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • We are starting a IBM Filenet migration project including the upgrade of JBoss version to latest one. We have a question about JBoss high availability strategy.
  • Information needed on loadbalancer cluster setup?
  • Consider a situation where we have implemented a shared platform concept for all our customers. This means that we have all customers sharing the same physical servers (4 servers) using just one instance of JBoss cluster on each server. Due to a "single sign on" request from one of our customers, we want to isolate this customer in one additional JBoss cluster instance, sharing the same servers where we will have other JBoss cluster running for all other customers.

  • The question we have is that how do we know if having two JBoss cluster instances sharing the same server nodes, will represent a problem in terms of load balancing ? We are concerned that the first JBoss cluster could start using all system resources in one node, and the second JBoss cluster could not be aware of this and can continue put more load on this first node instead of an alternative node with less usage system resources.
