RHEL 6 NFS server refuses mount request after nfs-utils upgrade: "getfh failed: Operation not permitted"

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • After the upgrade of RHEL 6.1 servers (nfs-utils package), which are sharing NFS shares, below errors are seen. NFS clients were not able to mount the shares. Downgrading the nfs-utils package from version nfs-utils-1.2.3-15.el6_2.1.x86_64 to nfs-utils-1.2.3-15.el6.x86_64 resolves the problem.
