Settings in /etc/sysconfig/i18n are not taken into account by cron

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • The output of locale command runned through script in cron is not correct (i.e instead of LANG="en_US.UTF-8" getting POSIX).
  • After updating to RHEL 6.5, sysstat was reporting time in AM/PM format

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.4 and older
