How to upgrade EAP 6 to 6.3 in RPM installation while upgrading RHEV 3.4 to 3.5 ?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • According to the RHEV 3.5 documentation it is recommended to upgrade to JBoss EAP 6.3.3 when upgrading RHEV Manager from 3.4 to 3.5.

  • We have subscribed my RHEV Manager to the following channel (RHN classic): Red Hat JBoss EAP (v 6) for 6Server x86_64 (jbappplatform-6-x86_64-server-6-rpm). But there is one more yum channel available i.e. Red Hat JBoss EAP (v 6.3) for 6Server x86_64 (jbappplatform-6.3-x86_64-server-6-rpm). Tried to add the jbappplatform-6.3-x86_64-server-6-rpm channel and did a yum check-update, but no updates were found for the installed jboss rpms. So now we are not sure if jbappplatform-6-x86_64-server-6-rpm contains the latest rpms recommended for RHEV 3.5 or if we need to migrate to the rpms available in jbappplatform-6.3-x86_64-server-6-rpm.

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP)
    • 6.x
  • Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization (RHEV)
    • 3.x
