Negative TotalMessageCount in JMX Broker MBean

Issue

We are monitoring the A_MQ brokers health via JMX and noticed that occasionally the Broker MBean in JMX reports a negative TotalMessageCount.
Whats the root cause of this behavior?

Resolution

JBoss A-MQ 6.2 will resolve this bug.
At the time of writing this KCS JBoss A-MQ 6.2 is not yet released.

Root Cause

Bug ENTMQ-946 / AMQ-5640.

Starting a broker with some messages on a queue and consuming these messages would result in a negative TotalMessageCount.
