How to hot add a disk during install of a RHEL 7 Guest in KVM
Issue
- Customer would like to add a disk to the guest after they have already booted the installation media.
- Customer would prefer to not have to force the guest off to add the disk starting the installation process from scratch.
- Customer hot adds disk but it does not automatically appear in the list of available devices to install to.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 as a guest virtual machine
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux for the hypervisor
