While discovering repositories on the Red Hat Satellite v 6, it fails with "getaddrinfo: Name or service not known" error.

Issue

  • On trying to enable the repo through command line using hammer utility, it fails with error:-
#hammer repository-set enable  --organization "Custom Org" --product "Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server" --name "Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 Server (Kickstart)" --releasever "6.6" --basearch "x86_64"
Could not enable repository:
  getaddrinfo: Name or service not known
  • While discovering repositories on the Red Hat Satellite v 6, it fails with getaddrinfo: Name or service not known error.
  • Hostname is been changed after installation of satellite.

Environment

  • Red Hat Satellite 6(freshly installed)
