Why does commands like uptime fail with error "/lib64/libproc-3.2.3.so version `_3_1_14' not found" ?

Issue

  • Command fails with following error
$ uptime
uptime: /lib64/libproc-3.2.3.so: version `_3_1_14' not found (required by uptime)
$ su - root
su: symbol lookup error: su: undefined symbol: misc_conv
$
