Jabberd filling /var/log/messages with "disconnect jid=unbound, packets: 0", How to handle this messages ?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Jabberd is logging every connection. This is logging dozens of connections every second and is flooding /var/log/messages. This is causing the /var/log partition to fill to 100% and causing errors. While we could increase the partition size and be more strict with our logrotate. This still leaves the problem of the log being full of unhelpful messages. Is there a way to turn down the verbosity of jabberd?
