Apache failed to start after setting mod_cluster WaitForRemove directive
Environment
- Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Web Server (EWS)
- 2.0.x
- 2.1.x
- Apache httpd 2.2.15
- mod_cluster 1.2.x
Issue
- We are trying to tune up mod_cluster by setting up
WaitForRemovebut Apache won't start after this setting is declared. The httpd.log shows below error message:
Invalid command 'WaitForRemove', perhaps misspelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration.
-
The documentation link https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-US/JBoss_Enterprise_Application_Platform/6.3/html/Administration_and_Configuration_Guide/mod_cluster_Configuration_on_httpd.html suggest
WaitForRemovecan be used in mod_cluster configuration at Apache httpd server side. -
How to use
WaitForRemovedirective in mod_cluster?
Resolution
- In the older release of mod_cluster 1.0.x it was used as
WaitForRemovebut in mod_cluster 1.2.0 and later this directive is no more exist and replaced with new directiveWaitBeforeRemove.
## WaitBeforeRemove - Time in seconds before a node removed is forgotten by httpd: (Default: 10 seconds)
WaitBeforeRemove 12
