Performance degradation and eventual memory corruption if vCPU hotplug is enabled on VMware ESXi
Issue
- VMware vm experienced memory corruption
- vm hangs
- broken numa layout
- all cpus appear in node0
- vnuma is enabled but UMA is used instead
Environment
- VMware ESX 5.0.x / 5.1.x / 5.5.x
- virtual NUMA and vCPU hotplug enabled
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux
