stonith-ng reports numerous "warning: parse_host_line: Could not parse" errors for fence_apc and fencing fails in a RHEL 7 High Availability cluster

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • When I execute pcs stonith fence <node> --off, I would expect that the node gets fenced, but this is not the case. Running fence_apc with -o off, -o status, and -o on works fine.

  • fence_apc seems to be failing with parse errors

  • I see stonith-ng reporting numerous "warning: parse_host_line: Could not parse" errors for fence_apc

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7 with the High Availability Add On
  • fence_apc configured as the agent for a stonith device
    • A fence_apc stonith device has verbose=true in its configured attributes
    • That fence_apc device does not have pcmk_host_list or pcmk_host_map specified
