How do i get SOAP Request in ESB Custom Action

Issue

Need to get an entire SOAP request which includes the SOAP envelope from the ESB mesage. If the request is sent as a normal synchronous request, only the SOAP body content can be retrieved from the ESB Message. Everything works fine if access to the ESB through http gateway is made as an asynchronous request.
How can I get the entire SOAP envelope?
