OOM-Killer causes a node to enter an unrecoverable state in OpenShift Enterprise
Issue
- In OpenShift Enterprise, the OOM-Killer was invoked on a gear. The gear processes and any processes accessing the
/var/lib/openshiftfilesystem are hung and are unrecoverable until the node is rebooted. - Less severe issues may also be seen, such as several hung tasks.

- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
- kernel-2.6.32-431.11.2.el6 and before
- OpenShift Enterprise 1.2
- OpenShift Enterprise 2.0
- OpenShift Enterprise 2.1
- OpenShift Enterprise 2.2
