Nginx external load balancer doesn't hit idler

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • We have HA external load balancer (NGINX) solution, currently it routes traffic straight to HAProxy gears and bypasses idler. This means that when applications are idled you get proxy errors because the gear's can not be accessed.
    • Typically accessing the application URI, un-idles the application because it hits the idler, and denotes gear access.

Environment

  • OpenShift Enterprise 2.2
