Unable to remote print to Solaris 10 printers

Issue

I'm trying to remote print to a Solaris 10 server, but I get lp: connection refused

[root@client]#  lp -d pqueue -h sol-pserver  /etc/hosts
lp: Connection refused
[root@client]# lpr -H sol-pserver -P pqueue /etc/hosts
lpr: Connection refused

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) print client
  • Solaris 10 (or other remote) print server
