RHEL prints a random character string at the beginning of a document
Issue
- The stuff in the upper left hand corner is an escape sequence to control how the output looks. Seems that it is being passed thru because the ESC character is being filtered out.
- The only escape sequence being sent to the printer is the one that is seen printing in the top left which is supposed to select the drawer.
- The file has PCL escape sequences to set line spacing and character size, but they're not being sent to the printer properly.
- When we try to print from our application we get several lines of gibberish printing along with our reports.

When we print a document, a string of characters is printed at the beginning, like:
