Nodes in a RHEL 6 Highly Available cluster using pacemaker without cman sometimes fail to join

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • Half of the time when starting corosync and pacemaker, it works and nodes join, and the other times they cannot see each other. This can be seen looping in /var/log/cluster/corosync.log:
Jun 19 10:29:15 corosync [TOTEM ] A processor joined or left the membership and a new membership was formed.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6 with the High Availability Add On
  • pacemaker
  • Not using cman, but rather configuring /etc/corosync/corosync.conf directly and starting corosync
