"ORA-22924: snapshot too old" error in Satellite Taskomatic log during channel repodata generation

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Taskomatic is not rebuilding the repomd.xml file for a channel, other metadata files are created as *.gz.new and are left incomplete. (var/cache/rhn/repodata//repomd.xml)
  • Errors like the following found in /var/log/rhn/rhn_taskomatic_daemon.log:
INFO   | jvm 1    | 2012/03/07 23:51:11 | 2012-03-07 23:51:11,277 [Thread-13168] ERROR com.redhat.rhn.common.hibernate.HibernateFactory - I/O Error converting blob to byte array
INFO   | jvm 1    | 2012/03/07 23:51:11 | java.io.IOException: ORA-01555: snapshot too old: rollback segment number  with name "" too small
INFO   | jvm 1    | 2012/03/07 23:51:11 | ORA-22924: snapshot too old
INFO   | jvm 1    | 2012/03/07 23:51:11 |       at oracle.jdbc.driver.DatabaseError.SQLToIOException(DatabaseError.java:517)
