Red Hat Network Satellite Taskomatic dies shortly after start with java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError errors
Issue
-
The RHN Taskomatic service appears to start, but then dies shortly afterwards.
-
The RHN Taskomatic log indicates that it cannot find Java class files.
Attempts to apply updates to a server fail with the following message:
This action's status is: Failed.
The client picked up this action on 04/ 9/12 9:10:01 PM EDT.
The client completed this action on 04/ 9/12 9:10:03 PM EDT.
Client execution returned "Error while executing packages action: empty transaction [[6]]" (code -1)
Errata Affected:
The RHN Satellite channels were actually not being populated correctly by the Taskomatic daemon. Investigating /var/log/rhn/rhn_taskomatic_daemon.log may show that Java could not find specific classes every time the Taskomatic daemon was started.
