Updated 2013-11-18T06:16:11+00:00

Issue

  • Additional swap device on a Volume Group other than rootVG is not getting activated at boot. Veritas Volume manager is being used for the device used for the VG. /etc/fstab file entries for the devices are
/dev/vx/dsk/bootdg/swapvol swap swap defaults 0 0
/dev/vx/dsk/datadg/swapvol1 swap swap _netdev 0 0
  • Swap space is getting detected by running swapon -a command after reboot of the server.
# swapon -s
Filename Type Size Used Priority
/dev/vx/dsk/rootdg/swapvol partition 8385888 993340 -1

# swapon -a

# swapon -s
Filename Type Size Used Priority
