Getting authentication errors when trying to upload ISO images to RHEV-M using ISO Uploader

Issue

  • When using ISO Uploader to upload an ISO image to RHEV data center getting the following message:

    Please wait while ISO files are being Uploaded. 
Operation might take several minutes.
*** Password authentication failed
*** Failed to connect to Host: host1.example.com

This host1 system together with host2 system are part of RHEV environment. If host2 is made SPM(Storage Pool Manager), no problem with uploading. Where is this password stored, which the ISO Uploader tries to use? Does RHEV Manager use a different authentication mechanism?

  • Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization(RHEV) 2.1
  • Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager (RHEV-M).
