RHEV: VM lost IPv6 connectivity after upgrading hypervisor to RHEV-H7

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • IPv6 does not work after upgrading from RHEV-H6 to RHEV-H7.
  • Network connection fails in the VMs.
  • Going back to RHEV-H6 makes IPv6 work again.
  • Can only ping localhost (::1), ping to local IP-address and all other IPs doesn't work.
  • IPv4 is disabled, only IPv6 is used in the VMs.
  • IPv4 connection between RHEV-M and RHEV-H works.
  • IPv6 DAD Fails.
  • In a VM with no IPv6 communication, tentative dadfailed can be seen after the addresses when executing the ip -6 addr show command, as shown below:
#ip -6 addr show
inet6 ADDRESS/MASK scope global tentative dadfailed
inet6 LL-ADDRESS/64 scope link tentative dadfailed
