Chapter 1. Major Features

Major features released for Red Hat Network Satellite 5.4.1.
  • RHN Proxy and RHN Satellite can now be installed on RHEL 6.1 (or newer) for 64-bit or IBM System z architectures
  • Internationalized domain names can now be used for client system, RHN Proxy and RHN Satellite server hostnames
  • New documentation for this release:

Important

SELinux + Monitoring is offered in this release as a technical preview for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 installations of RHN Satellite and RHN Proxy.

Important

When updating from RHN Satellite 5.4 to RHN Satellite 5.4.1, read the update instructions contained within the newest rhn-upgrade package. These are located at /etc/sysconfig/rhn/satellite-upgrade/point-release-update.txt.
When updating from RHN Satellite 5.4 to RHN Satellite 5.4.1, packages within the Red Hat channel Satellite WebUI could see that their content provider is displayed as Unknown. This will occur if you have not previously applied the solution from RHBA-2011:0387-2. You can choose to apply it now by running the following command (see BZ#710398 for more information): 
 spacewalk-update-signatures -d $(spacewalk-cfg-get default_db)
