Can I mount an ext3 filesystem on a SAN from multiple nodes at the same time?

SAN based disk arrays typically allow multiple accessor nodes to connect to a particular set of devices at the same time. In order for such configurations to work, all nodes must use software which is aware of the fact that they may not be the only accessor to the system.
