How do I add a new NIS domain user?

The NIS domain user should be added to the NIS server's local user database (i.e. /etc/passwd, /etc/group, etc.). The commands below are used to create the new user account (e.g. yptestuser) and set the user's password:

adduser yptestuser
passwd yptestuser
