How can the minimum or maximum username length of a Red Hat Network (RHN) Satellite user be changed?

Updated 2008-04-09T22:00:00+00:00

The minimum length of a username in a Red Hat Network (RHN) Satellite defaults to five characters. In some organizations this may not be appropriate and the minimum or maximum username length may need to be changed.

Modify the /etc/rhn/rhn.conf and add the lines, as needed:

web.min_user_len = 3
web.max_user_len = 30

Save the file and as the root user, run the command:

service rhn-satellite restart
