JBoss ON agent reporting IP address as its name rather than the hostname

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • using rhq-agent-wrapper.sh causes the reporting server to show up with it's IP in the Discovery Queue rather then it's hostname
  • platform showing in discovery queue with IP address rather than hostname

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Operations Network (ON) 3.2.0
  • agent started with rhq-agent-wrapper script
