Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • After upgrading Ansible Tower, the dashboard is showing a "Your connection is not private" certificate error screen due to a HSTS mismatch.
  • Can't login to Ansible Tower due to a "Your connection is not private" message in Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox after a version upgrade
  • Ansible Tower dashboard is showing the following certificate error after an upgrade:
Your connection is not private

Attackers might be trying to steal your information from tower.example.com (for example passwords, messages, or credit cards). NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID
[...]

You cannot visit tower.example.com right now because the website uses HSTS. Network error and attacks are usually temporary, so this page will probably work later.
