Start the server lazily, not touching the datasource during startup

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • The server has an application deployed, that uses a datasource. If the datasources is not available, a JPA application should successfully start, without leading to a failure of the server startup.
  • We need behavior like in Spring, see LazyConnectionDataSourceProxy
  • We need behavior like in TomEE, see Stackoverflow

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP)
    • 7.3
