Router intermittently returns default certificate for Passthrough Routes in OpenShift

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Sometimes, for Openshift Passthrough Routes, there are intermittent SSL handshake failures. The reason is that the server does not send the Application Certificate, but instead the wildcard certificate for the Routes.
  • When establishing a new TLS connection to a Passthrough Route, sometimes the default certificate for the Cluster returned instead of the Route certificate.

Environment
