SMB2: Can not create files under directories containing a trailing space
Issue
- Creating files under a path that includes a trailing space fails with
No such file or directory
on a SMB2+ share - The file can be created on a SMB share.
- If the SMB2+ share is mounted with
mapchars
the file can be created under the path that includes a trailing space, but quotes"
are interpreted as symbols in file names. - The behavior occurs regardless of the SMB server vendor.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterpise Linux
- 7
- 8
- SMB2+
