How to preserve consecutive slashes in URL on httpd

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Our requests at times are sent with multiple consecutive forward slashes in a row (/foo/bar//example). The request is normalized and the extra slashes are removed, which we note on the backend proxy destination (/foo/bar/example`). The proxy backend needs to receive all slashes in the original URL. Is there any option in httpd to prevent this request normalization?

Environment

  • JBoss Core Services (JBCS) httpd
