The kmem enabled memory cgroup cannot be fully released unless all associated kmem_cache are "destroyed"

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • The kernel memory-limited memory-controlled cgroup cannot be released unless the root kmem_cache is explicitly destroyed.

  • While attempting to create a cgroup under the memory resource controller the error cannot allocate memory is returned. For example:

    # mkdir /sys/fs/cgroup/memory/kubepods/burstable/podff4b0b02-34fd-49bb-8cfa-98a81316ab3c: cannot allocate memory

Environment
