Server.log is not rotating in JBoss EAP 6.x/7.x

Issue

  • The problem is: we have an application server with JBoss EAP running 6.1 CP 1 and we have configured for the log to rotate periodically from JBoss EAP admin GUI but it is not happening. Rather all the logs are being written in a single file which is creating a problem for us in terms of processing and disk space.

  • My server.log file did not rotate in a 24 hour period. which is the default configuration, and it is actually intended to rotate at midnight.

  • Our server.log is not rotating which is causing the logfile to grow very large.
