File transfer to a VMware guest stalls, always after around 64KB of data has been sent

Issue

• A file transfer such as scp will stall between two VMware guests and it always seems to be after having transferred around 64KB of data.
• Packet captures taken on both sides shows that when the problem occurs, packets transmitted by the sender no longer arrive on the receiver guest, seemingly lost somewhere in between.
