JGroups error JGRP000010: packet has different version than ours; packet is discarded

Issue

  • We see many and frequent messages like this in the logs:

    WARN  [org.jgroups.protocols.TCP] packet from  10.20.30.40:17800 has different version (241) from ours (2.4.8). This may cause problems

    Or

    WARN  [org.jboss.as.clustering.jgroups.protocol.UDP] (thread-X) JGRP000012: discarded message from different cluster ee (our cluster is ejb). Sender was c04d2ca8-466e-19ff-8e0b-cd98f0d45c80 (received 72 identical messages from c04d2ca8-466e-19ff-8e0b-cd98f0d45c80 in the last 60264 ms)
