VLAN network device consists of Bonding network device returns error on boot
Issue
- Network link down on bonding and VLAN with HWADDR
- When the VLAN device constructed with Bonding device gets started, it shows following error on syslog:
# tail -f /var/log/messages
[...]
Nov 16 06:00:15 hostname-test kernel: bonding: bond0: link status definitely down for interface eth0, disabling it
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.8
- Bonding device must be present
- VLAN device consists of bonding device must be present
