The overrun value in the RX line of ifconfig output is high

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • In some interface the overrun values in RX line is high but there are no drops
  • What is causing the overruns?
  • Will these overruns cause low performance?
  • NIC overruns % appears too high . One of the NICs in a bonded interface is running a high percentage of overruns when compared to the other NIC.
  • Is this an issue in waiting and/or how to track the cause of the overruns ?
